No person shall erect, alter, extend or maintain any fence, wire or structure within the city limits of Everett through which an electric current shall pass for the purpose of creating and imparting an electric shock to persons or animals that may come into contact with the same; except as allowed by Section 19.39.070(F). Any electric fence erected or maintained shall be energized by battery power only, or by some other method as allowed by the building official, and fence controllers shall be approved by a nationally recognized testing lab and so indicated. An “electric fence” warning sign shall be posted at not more than fifty-foot intervals. (Ord. 3600-18 § 3, 2018; prior code § 2.40.010.)
