The mayor shall appoint and may remove, with the approval of the city council, a city attorney. The city attorney shall be the chief legal officer of the city and shall serve on a full-time basis with office in the city hall. The city attorney may appoint and remove full-time and part-time professional staff. (Ord. 857-82, 1982.)
