A. The city of Everett emergency management division directs the city of Everett integrated emergency management program and shall operate under the policy guidance of the city of Everett comprehensive emergency management plan which shall include the following operational elements: organization, responsibilities, concept of operations, administration and logistics, direction and control.

B. The director of emergency management shall coordinate development, implementation and maintenance of the emergency management plan as chairperson of the emergency management committee, to provide coordination with outside agencies and organizations involved in emergency planning, to provide for public education and information, to manage the emergency operations center during disasters and to perform such other functions as the mayor shall designate. The comprehensive emergency management plan and any amendments thereto shall be effective when approved by the mayor. (Ord. 2811-04 § 4, 2004.)
