When selecting personnel to fill positions in the city requiring special experience and training to qualify for such positions, it may become necessary, in order to insure selection of the most qualified, for applicants for such positions to be personally interviewed. The council finds that in such cases the payment by the city of the travel and subsistence expense of applicants requested to come to the city for interviews is a proper municipal expense and for a proper municipal purpose. These expenses shall be paid on the same basis as employees or officers of the city. (Ord. 330-74 § 2, 1974; prior code § 1.20.020.)
